Holiday cheer was spread throughout Tice Elementary School in Fort Myers recently, all thanks to a group of students from AACE.
AACE held a food drive for several weeks to help fill a bag of food for Thanksgiving for each of the 500 students at Tice. Those 500 bags were delivered by the AACE students the week before Thanksgiving. Items such as stuffing, canned corn, mac and cheese, and pumpkin pie mix were given to the kids. Receiving the bags of food helped make a difference in their holiday.
AACE raised nearly eight thousand dollars during the food drive, which included a five-thousand-dollar donation from The Collaboratory. Through service projects like this, participants learn the value of giving back, serving the community and supporting those in need.
